The world does not need another blogger, yet here I am.
There are more eloquent, creative, talented, unique, funny, and interesting people in this world. I'm just, well, me.
Now that I've acquiesced that I am not a special snowflake, I'll tell you why I'm here: I'm curious about a lot of things and push my skills. My curiosity has taken me to various artistic endeavors: singing, photography, sewing and needle arts, and cooking. I work full time, serve on two boards of directors, and have a toddler.
Here is an interesting tidbit about me: I was a blogger before the word "blogger" was coined. Back in the 1990s, I responded to a nationwide search by Kidsites 3000 for teen writers for a website, gettingreal.com, geared towards the real experiences of teenagers. My segment encompassed applying to and getting into college. For awhile, they were pursuing a television segment and I was featured in an article in Money magazine.
I guess it's time to "get real" again and collect my thoughts, successes, and failures in a single place.
